Irie Bean Coffee Bar
After a semester of studying in Los Angeles, I'm back this week with a review of the coffee shop Irie Bean Coffee Bar! This shop is located off South Lamar next to East Side King's brick and mortar shop. Irie Bean has plenty of parking located on the left side of the shop. (Be sure not to park in the shopping center behind Irie Bean! The center has been known to tow!) The inside of the coffee shop has a cozy, laid-back island vibe, and if you step out onto the back patio that feeling intensifies. In addition to tables and booths, the patio also has a few hammocks that patrons are free to chill and sip their coffee on. Also located on the porch is a small outdoor stage for the shop's weekly open mic nights that occur every Thursday from 7-10 p.m.!
Irie Bean brews Texas Coffee Traders coffee beans and also serves a variety of wines and champagne from Infinite Monkey Theorem, beers, ciders, juices and kombuchas. In addition to drinks, the shop also serves a variety of different pastries and snacks and even has a large variety of gluten-free pastries from People's Rx.
Hours: Monday-Friday: 7 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday: 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
What I Ordered: A cappuccino! So good, definitely recommend.
Customers: Mainly young to middle-aged adults
Music: The music was mainly older music like "Sending Out an SOS" by The Police, "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure, and "Walk On the Wild Side" by Lou Reed.
Wifi/Outlets: There are plenty of outlets and good wifi!
Cool Extras: They have a bunch of cool events going on at the shop every week! Tomorrow evening make sure to head over to the shop to catch their screening of The Goonies in their courtyard!
