Opening Bell Coffee

Annnnd I'm back in Dallas for the holidays! Today's review is over one of my all time favorite coffee shops. Opening Bell Coffee, or OBC, is a live-music-lover, local-eatery-fanatic, craft coffee connoisseur's dream. In addition to their variety of coffee drinks (some of them definitely guaranteed to wake you up in the morning, like their Black Eye: Drip & two shots of espresso), they also have a few different beers and wines to choose from to wind down the day. OBC serves food from many different local vendors, which you can find on their website at www.openingbellcoffee.com/menu! You can catch a live music performance most nights of the week, and they even have an open-mic night. OBC is located in the basement retail area of the South Side on Lamar Lofts, right down the street from Bill's Record's. There is a bit of street parking, but there is plenty of free retail parking!

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7am-10pm; Fri 7am-12am; Sat 8am-12am; Sun 8:30am-9pm

Music: A lot of singer/songwriter type music to match their live music vibes (Hozier for example)

What I Ordered: I had a slow pour cup of Chemex brewed coffee with Avoca Coffee roasted coffee beans ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Customers: Mostly young working/hip adults

Atmosphere: The entire experience of visiting this coffee shop feels as if you are being let in on a hip, underground (pun intended๐Ÿ˜) secret. When you walk into the store-front, you're greeted with a wall of concert posters and a staircase that leads you down to the opening of the coffee shop. When you peek inside, the eclectic art, the high Windows, comfortable seating and the stage for the live music gives you a right-out-of-a-movie vibe. OBC is a great place to hang out with friends and listen to good music, organize a meetup, or get some work done.

Cool Extras: They have a few books and chalkboard table for you to leave your mark in the shop ๐Ÿ˜Š
