The Factory - Cafe with a Soul
This week I have decided to review the new coffee shop The Factory - Cafe with a Soul! This shop is located in the shopping center off of Anderson Lane and Burnet Road and opened it's doors for the first time in October 2016. The inside of the coffee shop is unlike any coffee shop I've seen in Austin. With it's fun, whimsical furniture and french-style decorations, The Factory seems like it will definitely be one of my new hangout spots. Because it is in a shopping center, there is plenty of parking space out front.
The Factory brews Stumptown Coffee and has a variety of interesting drinks along that you might not see in a normal coffee shop, like their viva matcha latte or their mint mojito. They are already becoming known for their chicken & waffles and house-made pop tarts, both of which sound delicious!
Hours: Monday-Sunday: 9 a.m.-2 a.m.
What I Ordered: A macchiato with a side of sparkling water. (Honestly their drinks are a lot pricier than most coffee shops I've been to in Austin, be forewarned.)
Customers: I went during a time where there was not a lot of customers, and the shop is so new it's really hard to tell what the normal crowd will be like in the future!
Music: The music was an interesting mix of slow indie music and fast electronic music. To be completely honest, the music was a little too loud for me.
Wifi/Outlets: There are plenty of outlets, but no wifi! (Pro tip: I was able to connect to the McAllister's wifi from where I was sitting!)
Cool Extras: Instead of a normal cashier checkout system, The Factory has several iPads set up where you can peruse the drinks and food they offer, add them to your cart, place the order, and pay out all by yourself! You can give them your number on the iPad as well to get a text when your coffee is ready. How cool!
